Challenges in Practice

What you don't catch early
costs you many times more later.

When inspection relies on the naked eye alone, speed, repeatability, and documentation hit their limits as cycle rates rise. Four bottlenecks come up again and again:

Late Defect Detection

Defects only become apparent at later stages. Rework, scrap, and complaint-related costs rise exponentially.

Inconsistent Inspection Quality

Without technical support, results depend on the inspector’s experience and form on the day. This increases warranty and product liability risks.

Visual Tasks as a Bottleneck

Growth holds itself back: the line could run faster, but inspection becomes the bottleneck.

Documentation Gaps

Reproducible evidence requires too much effort. A complete inspection record remains the exception rather than the rule.

What Customers and Partners Say
“

When developing an inspection module for critical reactor components, we relied on Grünspecht Vision Labs from the very beginning; not only were we convinced of their technical capabilities, but we also had a partner we could truly trust.

Mission & Vision

Automation through intelligent image processing.

Our camera systems see what the human eye often misses, and they react in milliseconds. We teach machines to understand their environment, detect defects on their own, and optimize processes, right in live production.

Our focus isn’t on the next model, but on the system that actually works. That’s why we start with image quality and only introduce AI where it makes a difference.

Our Approach

Image quality decides before the algorithm even starts.

We don’t start with the model, but with the image. The scene, lighting, optics, and sensor determine what the AI can even recognize. This is where the greatest leverage lies. Only then does processing come into play.

Lens and Inspection Lighting in a Camera System for Industrial Image Processing—Image Quality as the Foundation of AI-Based Optical Inspection

Optics, lighting, and sensors: These are the factors that determine image quality.

The Image Chain

Six levers, one direction: each one limits everything that comes after it. No model can recover what the optics fail to capture.
